Apparently I’ve now got a LiveJournal feed. So if you use LiveJournal, you can, err, I don’t know, do something or other with it.

It means that LJ users can add you to their ‘friends’ list so that your RSS entries appear on there. It’s for those too lazy to visit your site on the off chance that you’ve written something new, and yet too lazy to download a proper RSS reader.
I thought LiveJournal was for angst ridden teens, so good luck raising their consciousness. How do you get a feed to them anyway?
A paid user has to create a syndication account on LJ.
The composition of LJ is:
1/3 angst-ridden 15-year old Tori Amos fans
1/3 goths whose journals are entirely black
1/3 anime obsessives
Ith is largely right on LJ but there’s also
( This may buggerup totally, I’ve never done html formatting before, and there’s no preview )
And Randy McDonald
And Momus
and me..
You do it thus:
<a href = "<a href = "http://www.livejournal.com/users/rfmcdpei>http://www.livejournal.com/users/rfmcdpei>
<a href = "<a href = "http://www.livejournal.com/users/imomus>http://www.livejournal.com/users/imomus>
/me crosses fingers.
Bugger. That’s what I get for trying to show off!
Sorry everyone for my intolerant comments system. You need to follow the example below (even though not all of the stuff below is necessary for it to be a proper HTML tag).
Note: the "a" must be lower case, there must always be a " before the final >, there must always be an "http:" before the "www", and you can’t include any "title" or similar tags.
This gives you http://www.livejournal.com/users/rfmcdpei and http://www.livejournal.com/users/imomus.
Let me have a go.
<a href= "http://www.magicroundabout.com/800.asp>
Spaces after the = also aren’t good. If you follow the format of the Google link immediately below the comment box, all will (in theory) be happy.
Sodomy. Not that I have the faintest idea what I’m doing, but
your system keeps deleting my " before the final >, which seems unfair of it.
One more go
OK, start by copying and pasting the Google link below, like this:
link text
Then change http://www.google.com to whatever the address of the site you’re linking to is, and change link text to whatever the words you want to use for the link are.
Awesome, I get it. Having done no worthwhile work today, it’s nice to have learned something at least. Really thanks John. Really, thank you very much.
