I didn’t write this review, but I agree with it entirely. The film could’ve been a disaster, but was actually rather good. Recommended.

I agree, it was a good achievement, really enjoyable and lots of great surprises. I went to a Q&A with the directors and they are great guys!

I thought it was a decent film. It certainly had weak points, but overall I thought the atmosphere it created was pretty good. I would probably have come out saying it was great, except I saw the film with a guy who seemed to be personally insulted by the adaptation – and he wasn’t even a Hitchhiker’s fan(atic).
Mind you, what happened to the grotesque ‘Humma Valuva’ (sp?) character? Did I fall asleep and miss the bit where he reveals himself to be Arthur Dent’s father? Or is that a different film coming out later this month?
