In the unlikely event that you don’t have infinite respect for Paul McCartney (c’mon, while C’Moon was dreadful, as was every Wings song except Live and Let Die, Jet and Band On The Run, his Beatling output was amazing. Well, except for Yesterday, which is mawkish crap), this animation will remind you of what you’ve forgotten. Hilarity ensues.
Oddly enough, I couldn’t get the animation to work at first and so was about to comment on this thread by saying that while I do have infinite respect for Paul McCartney, we shouldn’t forget that he wrote Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, one of my least favourite Beatles songs, along with Lennon’s Run For Your Life and Harrison’s Savoy Truffle. The animation then loaded up and amused me. End of story.
But then, the title of your post didn’t really click in my mind…
I *like* ‘Yesterday’. (Yes, the doctors agree, there is no hope.)
I don’t think Yesterday is really that mawkish, certainly not in comparison to, say, Here There and Everywhere (which is musically great though).
