Fridayage

Are you bored? Do you fancy doing some kind of moderately cryptic puzzle based on public transport? I’ve made [*] a new Tube stations quiz to go with the one that’s been doing the rounds for a while (Excel required for both).

Otherwise, here are some pictures of attractive young women:

[*] By "made" I mean "found the question list, worked out the answers, and then formatted it into an Excel quiz". All finding via the excellent Going Underground site.

  1. If you’re referring to what I think you’re referring to, then you should bear in mind that I live in a parallel universe where the Midland Railway Company never existed.

Aside from that one, I’m entirely certain that all the others are Tube stations named according to TfL’s current conventions (in the universe that you inhabit).

  2. Feel free to amend the above comment so I’m not giving away one of the answers…

  3. Simon – I’ve deleted your 1st comment because I never got around to writing a comment editing front end. You’re absolutely right: I think dsquared was making the same point. All I can do is reiterate my disbelief in the existence of the Midland Railway.

  4. Did you guess the answers. Because I’m sure "Girls toy able" could also be "Alcohol free lager brewed by guiness in the 80s"

  5. I don’t understand that one. Why does Dollis Hill get a "right", but the alcohol-free lager answer doesn’t, despite it being obviously correct? I’m still stuck on three. You bastard.

  6. I did guess the answers, and wasn’t totally sure about the "girls toy able" one. Where’s Kaliber station, then, and how does it relate to the clue?

  7. Are half the answers Seven Sisters?

    Game, set and match
    It’s enormous
    Big hair
    African monks
    Where 007 might live
    Healthy herd on the farm
    This station holds your interest
    Bird Quay
