Marie Fatayi-Williams is a legend

Hopefully her Today interview will be repeated here (about 8:30-8:40, if it isn’t listed specifically). Absolute model of dignified but steely response to bereavement at the hands of terrorists; I hope I’d be as together and unvindictive if someone I loved met the same fate as her son.

  1. Sadly, it’s pretty likely that there will be a lot of other people in her situation by 2012 …

  2. Andrew — It could have been sub-edited. But I still doubt it, it’s not angry enough and he doesn’t mention Dsquared

Altogether now…"My tea’s gone cold, I’m wondering why I got out of bed at all the morning rain clouds up my window and I can’t see at all. And even if I could it’d all be grey, but your picture on my wall it reminds me that it’s not so bad, it’s not so bad"

  3. To be fair, though, it does contain the sentence "It’s my impression that nothing less than the imposition of Taliban-style governments worldwide will ever satisfy them" – referring to liberal critics of the government, note, not Islamists – which is ludicrous, argument-losing hyperbole worthy of Eric the blogger.

If it’s not the same one, perhaps they ought to meet up.
