If Galloway’s admiration for Saddam means Galloway butchered hundreds of thousands, then certainly having written a blog post to the effect that "Galloway’s a wanker, but…" means you’ve butchered dozens, at least. And that’s the kind of guilt that can drive a man to drink.

Surely the reference here is to George Galloway’s fondness for the libel courts. Not sure how things work in the USA, but in the UK calling a man a mass murderer is the sort of thing that could harm his reputation.
