I call my son "midgety-boy" all the time, and he's never uttered the merest smidgen of a complaint.

Mind you, he's only two. And only three foot tall. So it's not as if he has any grounds.

Indeed, I wrote the midgets comment.

It means midgets within the context of both the blogosphere and general contribution to "news" generally.

I could have used "minnows", but I don't like to descriminate against fish.

I'm led to believe by the uber-PC San Francisco Chronical that using "midgets" allegorically is still acceptable.

Meanwhile, my PC term for actually describing people of limited statue is "fucking freakass hobbit creatures".

On the subject of discrimination, you might want to remove the reference to midgets at the top of your blog. This is considered insulting these days. The correct terminology is now "little people", although some find dwarf acceptable.
