Why is it that you rightists constantly seem to feel the need to affirm your own intelligence and to deny that of your opponents? You should get that pleasure from the combat of debate with actual "left wingers" shouldn't you? Isn't the web strewn with our vanquished intellects? Aren't your conquests of us stupid left wingers manifest for all to see? Why harp on it? It would seem to indicate low self esteem.

To summarize with the words of the Bard "Methinks thou dost protest too much"

BTW, It's not just "thou". The whole right seems to be in this mode of requiring constant re-assurance of their own intellect. It's almost as if your arguments alone are not enough, but that rightists have to appeal to a made up authority, their own self-professed intellectual hypertrophy. It doesn't win you any arguments with anybody who disagrees with you, it just cows the weak minded.

Ooh meaders, that was a cutting comment, and a trenchent disection of my argument, not.

The thing you guys don't seem to understand about bigotry is that it gives a frisson of pleasure to the bigot each time he expresses it. Most people think bigots must feel low and mean, but in fact their bigotry serves to elevate their own self esteem.

Kind of like your comment, which is actually devoid of substance of any kind, but only serves to provide some kind of self reassurance to your own innate sense superiority to us RWDBs.

So, if your limited comprehension skills preclude it, let me summarize it for you, I am calling you a bigot.

I’m not convinced. Jones used to be my favourite Python, but his recent anti-Bush ranting has been quite pathetically unfunny. And that’s not because I disagree with him: there are plenty of comics around who have taken the piss out of Bush (Fafblog) and America (Mil Millington) quite brilliantly. Jones just isn’t one of them.

More seriously, the post above was making the point that people who are unwitty, ill-informed and *also* right-wing seem to be particularly down on Terry Jones, more so than on randomly-chosen-lefties. My suggestion is that this is because they're jealous of him, and wish they had his powers to argue for their cause - like liberals with PJ O'Rourke.
