  1. I was a bit bleary-eyed and read "Tennants Super and cavia". That drink would have rocked. Can’t muster up a lot of enthusiasm for the other mixes, or mixes generally.

  2. Before anyone gets into some catastrophic mixing, it should be noted that the three parts of a Ladyboy remain in separate glasses. One takes a swig of the lager, then a little nip from each of the others to chase it down.

Ooooooh. I might’ve tried it tonight if I’d known. Because I thought about it, and then I thought about the nausea that the thought induced, and went "naaaaaaah".

Because dude. That’d be vile. Also, you wouldn’t get a glass big enough.

  4. Round here, people are known to drink ‘mud’ (50/50 Coke and OJ) and a rather vile one called ‘Caribou’ (Carling and Malibu).

  5. A friend of mine sometimes drinks the Millenium [for the date of its invention, an invention that led to him actually missing the bells that night.]

Gin, Absinthe, Tequila (couple of measures of each) and then topped up in a tall glass with lemonade.

You don’t need many of them. Another friend drinks the Great George, which is essentially the same but without the lemonade.

  6. I’ve got a friend who especially enjoys the combination of Tequila and Milk…

Before I gave up the booze, I once had a standing agreement with a mate that whenever we were in the pub together, we had to order drinks that we had never tried before. Since we’d tried both tried most sensible drinks before, and were in the pub together rather often, it wasn’t long before we were in the realms of Lager and Baileys, Guiness and Coke, and Cider and Tequila (especially nasty). I can however recommend the lethal but quite pleasant combination of Gin and Pernod (but only if you like Pernod, of course).

  7. I once observed Canadians drinking something that consisted of a pint of Guinness with a shot of whisky, with a double Baileys lowered into it in a shotglass, then downed…

  8. People probably know the Guinness shandy trick already, don’t they? Gin and Dr Pepper (aka a "Jill Dando") is quite toothsome.
