Depressingly, all the Factcheck site proves is that ALL of our polital parties are lying bastards…

That is a great site. We had a full page advert arguing that violent crime had gone up by 100% since the last election. I thought that was a fishy statistic, after all, we might expect some rise, even a quite dramiatic rise, but a 100% in five years is literally incredible.
Perhaps I should add it to my ‘disingenuity of Michael Howard’ series.
Now look out for Labour’s counter strike, where they claim that *detection* of violent crime has shot up (because there are more *violent* crimes to solve). The only problem is that the police spend so much time on paperwork and sensitivity courses these days, they don’t do crime anymore.
