Ever come across Bat Ye’or? I find her name most amusing – it means "daughter of the Nile" in Hebrew, but Ye’or sounds like it should mean donkey. Quite appropriate for someone who alleges that European diplomatic approaches to Arab countries represent some sort of surrender to Arab domination. I hear the term dhimmi used for any non-Muslim who makes the slightest attempt to accommodate Muslims, even if they are his customers.

Stephen Schwartz is most definitely a cunt, a pigfucker, and any number of related phrases. I wonder if he realizes his column is itself Thompson-esque gonzo journalism, using its ostensible topic as a mere starting point from which to riff and rail on about how "I don't like the Beats or drugs."
