From what I recall, it’s based on a true story about two conjoined twins tortured by a dictatorship somewhere or other. It probably all makes sense in Nicky Wire’s head.

While I am slightly reluctant to display any knowledge of the band, the song is about two mute twins who were jailed for arson in Yorkshire, alongside Peter Sutcliffe and when like, no-one even tried to understand them, man. Hence the line, "disco dancing with the rapists/your only crime is silence".
